The well-known sculpture “Apollo and the Nymphs” is the work of one of the greatest sculptors of Baroque era, François Girardon.  Composed of seven figures the sculpture by the French sculptor introduced Apollo in the gardens. Sphinx by Karara Mujassme

The Sphinx is a mythical creature with the head of a human and the body of a lion; and sometimes the wings of a bird. The mythical creature was first observed through the Egyptians which usually had a male head, but the Greeks had their own interpretations which lead to the Sphinx having a head of a woman. These wonderful beings were known for their strength and were the guardians flanking the entrances to temples.

Sphinx has inspired artists all over the world for centuries. They were especially popular in the European decorative art and enjoyed a major revival during the Renaissance period.
