Description

“Venus Victrix”, a neoclassical sculpture of Pauline Bonaparte by the Italian sculptor Antonio Canova is displayed at the Villa Borghese, Rome (Italy).

Her husband, Prince Camillo Borghese commissioned the sculpture in the early 19th century, where Pauline herself decided to pose nude, thus, depicting herself as Venus, the goddess of love.
